The Journey to the Glaciovolcanos - second part 2019
The main subject of my works in 3 different installations was Öræfajökull, actually a volcano under the ice of Vatnajökull, the biggest glacier in Europe. In the first room scales of colors in a drawing on birch wood 488x210cm are changing from black to white and opposite or darkness into light or a glacier that disappear and return again in a ongoing reputation of the pattern. The dark red line in the middle combines the work together. It symbolize the magma under the surface of the ice. In the second room smoke drawings cover local descriptions of catastrophic eruptions in the glacier. In the third room ice taken from Vatnajökull was put into linen bags, hanged up, then melted together with ink colors on watercolor paper underneath.
