The exhibition Suburb was held ahead of the Reykjavik Association of Sculptors 50 year anniversary. The title, references its location in the Breiðholt district which is the first organized suburb of Reykjavik and one of the city´s most populous and diverse district where more than one third of the population are immigrants. I created participatory piece through a dialogue with students from 18 countries in Fellaskóli elementary school. The work was based on the students personal drawings of memories from their homeland which I painted on linen. I added my own flags for example of birds and installed an extensive flag installation in selected areas of the district, where flags were hoisted on certain days during the exhibition.
