Modern Icelandic sculpture - Nordic sculpture in the park 1992

Two separate sculpture exhibition. At the Reykjavík Art Festival there was a group show with 13 young Icelandic sculptors curated by Gunnar Kvaran, director of Reykjavík Art Museum. " At the moment there is a great ferment taking place among young Icelandic sculptors. Young and imaginative artists come forward and transform people´s ideas about art and its role. " I filled washing machine drums with molten lava lumps and placed them on pedestals in front of a dry-cleaning at the mall. - The Botanical garden in Gothenburg celebrated its 150th anniversary by inviting artists from all the Nordic countries to present their artworks in the park. Three big melted lava rocks from Iceland were presented as meteorites at the show in the park.
