Nordic Movement 2001

" The exhibition Nordic Movement can be regarded as one strand in a thread of devolopments which run through the 20th century. 14 artists represented at the exhibition are all active in the field of kinetic art, with works ranging from ingenious contraptions to the pristinely simple. Water, light and sound often play their ephemeral role in these works which share several charactereristics with the installations. Halldór Ásgeirsson from Iceland, who evokes the northern lights, Aurora Borealis, in his poetic bar. Halogen light, glass and water are set in motion by motorized table top, causing the colors of the glass to be projected onto the walls, ceiling and floor of the room, producing an all-encompassing experience for the spectator. "
