Public work - Reykjavik University 2010

15 round holes of different sizes are engraved directly into a 30 cm thick wooden beam that lies on top of a roundabout in the new building of Reykjavik University, a total 360 m2 in circumference. The holes are inclined to varying degrees on the wall surface which are distributed all around and are closed outside with colored glass. The holes are covered with light material on the inside allowing the ever changing light into the building. When the sun shines the holes " glow " sending colored dots of light onto certain surfaces of the roundabout. The holes act therefor like a light meter or sundial on which the daylight plays constantly, changing according to the solstice, all year around.
