Seven ups 1996
Group exhibition with seven Icelandic contemporary artists. On the front page of the catalogue there is a picture of an ornithologist and a satellite swan who flew from the east part of Iceland on 15th of November 1995 and landed after a straight flight in Donegal Bay in Northern Ireland at 4pm the 17th of November. The swan spends the winter in N-Ireland until springtime calls him to fly back to Iceland. For my installation I brought another kind of bird, a stuffed raven, which I placed on top of a melted lava stone. Two representatives of my country united, a raven and a volcanic rock transformed into " ravenblack " enamel. The rough atmosphere I felt during my stay in Belfast is followed by few photos and a poem in Icelandic.
