The worker of the eye 2021
The artworks created for the exhibition where inspired by volcanic activities in Iceland in past and present. Transforming the lava into another material by welding it to create different artworks inspired by the volcanic eruptions. Drawings of transformed lava in the form of a black glass are made with different technique and materials. Works on paper made with ink, acrylic colors and black and white photos. The artwork " Laki ", using sulfur on silver leafs, is inspired by the great eruption in SE of Iceland 1783 resulting the " Haze famine " which was the worst environmental and social - economic disaster in Iceland´s history. The atmospheric perturbations were the consequence of sulfuric aerosol plumes from the Laki eruption.
